Obama summons intelligence cheif's to White House meetings
0 comments Posted by Bl0ggin' It Wi3rd at 5:38 PMKANEOHE, Hawaii (Reuters) - President Barack Obama has summoned the heads of U.S. intelligence agencies for a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways of preventing a repeat of the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner on December 25.
Barack Obama
Seeking to counter criticism of his administration over an intelligence breakdown, Obama on Thursday said he expected to receive assessments from several intelligence agencies Thursday evening and would review them during the weekend.
Obama had ordered an immediate review of what he called "human and systemic failures" that allowed the accused bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian with alleged links to Islamic militants, to board the plane in Amsterdam for a transatlantic flight.
"On Tuesday, in Washington, I will meet personally with relevant agency heads to discuss our ongoing reviews as well as security enhancements and intelligence-sharing improvements in our homeland security and counterterrorism operations," Obama said in a statement issued while on vacation in Hawaii.
The preliminary report is expected to detail the intelligence lapses that allowed Abdulmutallab to board the Northwest Airlines flight to Detroit on Christmas Day with what authorities said were explosives sewn into his clothes.
The Nigerian suspect flew from Africa to Amsterdam, where he boarded the Northwest flight to Detroit.
The report will also make recommendations on improving the sharing of information between the United States' 16 intelligence agencies.
The director of national intelligence, Admiral Dennis Blair, said earlier this week that gaps remained despite dramatic improvements in the sharing of information since the September 11, 2001 hijacked plane attacks on the United States.
Obama, a Democrat, is under pressure from opposition Republicans, who fault his administration for not preventing the attack and the president for keeping silent about it for three days while on vacation in Hawaii.
Republicans portrayed Obama as weak on national security even as he campaigned for last year's presidential election, and have sought to push that point before mid-term elections in November, when they will challenge the Democrats' control of both houses of the U.S. Congress.

Chris Brown's Junior Album, Graffiti just hit the racks in stores. And, of course, I purchased it being that I am his # 1 fan!!! I know that he has badly messed up in the past, but everyone messes up. Life is too short for people to show hate for something that they already apologized, sincerely, for. I am not justifying what he did because, yes, it was wrong, but let's think about all the artists who've dome worse and are still supported. Anyway, my favorite songs on the album are Crawl, So Cold, What I do, and Lucky Me. Chris Brown is kinda like my hero for recovering from such a situation. I applaud him for his bravery.

My Thanksgiving break was very relaxing and fun. On Thanksgiving morning I went to my church and fed the homeless. After that I went to my aunt's house for dinner. My older cousin spent the weekend with us and I was very excited. On Friday I stayed in the house and did my homework assignments. I also played Super Mario brothers with my cousin. He sucked. Saturday was one of the best days of my week. My mom, 3 cousins, and I went to see New Moon and Ninja Assassin. Both movies were awesome. On Sunday, as usual, I went to church. My Thanksgiving break was amazing!

On November 20,2009 Homecoming took place at Benjamin Banneker Academy. The Banneker dance lasted from 7:00 to 10:30 pm. Numorous amounts of people showed up to celebrate Banneker spirit. Homecoming was fun for some people and boring for others. The bored ones felt isolated because they wanted to be different and not participate in certain activities. Basically, if you don't "dub" you'll feel left out. Nevertheless, Homecoming was a fun event and many had students had a great time.

There are many things that I like to do in my spare time. One of my favorite things to do is reading. Reading allows me to live through another person in another world. When I don't have a book to read I go on one of my favorite websites, Quizilla.com. On Quizilla teens can read stories that relate to them the best. Why? Because they're written by teens, too. You can find stories of all genres and interests. And to make the websites even better you can take quizzes, read poetry, and lyrics. Are you a gifted song writer or story author? Well, in a short time you can publish your own work on Quizilla. Need a break from the real world? Then type in Quizilla.com on your internet browser and enter the Quizilla Universe.Let you imagination run WILD!!!
Imagine it. Create it. Share it.

On Friday, October 9th, 2oo9, my dad took us to Queens, New York. My sister and I were told that we were going to go get costumes for my church's costume party. When I observed my surroundings, I immediately thought of that idea to be false. We weren't going in the direction of a costume store. Anyway, we arrived at a house and when we went inside I saw her for the first time. Stella, my soon to be dog. She is 18 months and is a puggle (a pug and a beagle) We played with her the whole time there and onto my surprise the owner was ready for us to take her home. I had thought that there was going to be a long process to getting Stella. We took her home and she fell in love with everything about us. Now, Stella is one of my best friends. We all have so much fun together.

*As I refer to "Twilight" in this paragraph I also refer to it's sequels... The entire "Twilight Saga"*
"Twilight" is one of the greatest discoveries of my life. Some people shy away from the book because they simply judge it. As the quote says, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." To me "Twilight" is the best thing I have ever read. It inspires me and has helped me to create standards for myself. I know you are thinking how can a book change someone's life? Well, in my example, it really can. "Twilight" has explained to me that it is okay to wait. Through the character, Bella, I have learned that one shouldn't look for love, but love would come to you when you least expect it. I even actually look for a guy pretty much like Edward (minus the vampire part). Regardless, "Twilight" is very instrumental in my life and I can never get over it. Besides the breath taking plot, the characters are awesome... and cute!
" 'Thank you,' he simply said. He took my left hand and kissed each of my fingertips before he kissed the ring that was now mine."
